How important is the high school you went to?

I go to a competitive public school with a very good local reputation but I have friends that go to this super easy private school that get straight As in the APs I'm taking but they all tell me their teachers are ridiculously easy.

Now I have Bs in 2 of my APs and worked extremely hard to get As in the other 2. Does it really matter what school you went to? My school is known for having difficult teachers. On the other hand, we have great AP scores and most of our teachers have very high passing rates.

My high school also doesn't do grade inflation.

Depends on whether the colleges consider your academic record in the context of your high school. Obviously, this varies by college.

However, the students who go to a really easy high school are likely to find college to be a much more difficult transition in terms of academic rigor, compared to students who go to a more rigorous high school. (Students at the easy high school getting scores of 1 on AP tests while students at a more rigorous high school are getting scores of 5 on the same AP tests may provide a hint.)

Alrighty thanks :)
