I sent in my supplement and application to Macalester a couple of weeks ago, and when I wrote the essay I was writing a lot of other essays and didn't put as much into it as I could have (it's not awful, and it's truthful and says what it needs to say, but it's not the best I could do).

In the past couple of weeks I've come to consider Macalester really high on my list of where I'd want to go, so I'm worried that I didn't do enough.

Basically, how important is that essay? If it's average and doesn't "sparkle," will that really hinder my chances?

Thanks!
