<p>As I can't imagine supplemental essays are as important as your common application is (except for maybe "why __ " schools"), how important are supplemental essays? Mine are not nearly as good as my common app is...just wondering how detrimental this could be. </p>

<p>erm i think both are important... infact i thnk for schs lke stanford and uchicago the supplement essays are arguably more impt becos the AOs can evaluate your essays in their terms rather than reading a cookier cutter commonapp essay.</p>
<p>If they weren't important, they wouldn't ask for them. Do you seriously think adcoms don't have enough to read without asking for extra essays?</p>

<p>Every essay is your chance to communicate who you are, how you think, your chance to impress. Take it. Treat each essay seriously. And if there are multiple essays, don't be afraid to take a few risks. Show your humorous side, even your quirky side.</p>
