I know this has probably been discussed many times before, and if you guys can direct me to your various opinions on previous posts that would be fine, but how important are high school ECs when applying for sophmore transfer admission (applying as a second semester freshman)? I've just made up an activity list to supplement my applications, but it focuses primarily on my college ECs because they are so extensive. I had 5 pages already, so I just had brief descriptions of only my 3 most important high school activities. What does everyone think? How important are high school ECs? College more important? Thanks guys, I'm just trying to get a general idea.

I'd love to know the same thing... but kind of for the opposite reason. I have a lot of high school ECs and not too many college ones... I'm hoping that they'll understand that my first semester was definitely a MAJOR adjustment period, I tried several different clubs/activities that I didn't like, and only now have I found a couple of activities I enjoy. Plus, since i'm still a freshman, it's not even one year of college versus four years of high school...

b238, I'm hoping it's fine either way!! logically i would think it is, since transferring is such a strange situation in itself.

I would say college activities are definitely more important, but lots of HS extracurrics certainly won't hurt given that you probably havent been in college too long.

By the way, HOW DO YOU BUMP??

are college ECs really more important if it's barely been a semester and a half? especially given that the first semester is an adjustment period... at least it definitely was for me, and for lots of my friends.
