How "intensive" is Intensive Japanese I and II

I'm considering taking Japanese as my foreign language, but description of the class kinda makes me think that it might be a whole lot of work or a lot harder than other foreign languages. Can anybody whose taken these classes tell me what its like, as far as the workload and how hard of a class it is, as well as anything else that might be of impotance?

To a westerner, Japanese is the hardest language to learn. The Japanese writing system is broken down into three separate parts: Hiragana, Katakana and Kanji. Also, With multitudes of useless, confusing politeness levels, and absolutely insane grammatical structure, learning Japanese is a soul breaker.
Therefore, if regular Japanese classes are considered hard, intensive Japanese is....well you get the point.

Grammar is very similar to Korean.

Other than that, it's different.

And probably difficult. I'll tutor you for money :D.
