How hard are these classes compared to, say, a typical AP equivalent class. Are they the same, harder, same material.

Does Chem 2070, general chemistry, do the same material as AP chem. I know Bio 1101 and 1102 are for like a fall+spring course with their accompanying labs, 1103-1104.

Basically, will I be prepared for this classes, and not struggle through them. My AP classes were demanding, but I did well.

^for the neurobio thing, the 7th ed. has the material in one chapter, whereas its split into two chapters in the 8th ed. (or maybe its the other way around). it’s not a big deal. you can always just borrow a friend’s book. just make sure that all the readings you’re doing are the right ones in the 7th. but yeah, prob not necessary to buy the 8th if you have the 7th.

“If you study the book, and PPTs, how difficult will it still be?”
studying just the PPTs alone aren’t that useful, unless its the stuff not in the book. if you just read the book carefully, you should be fine. although some test questions are kind of tricky. test averages for 1101 usually in the 60’s. clicker questions are easy but the webquizzes are kind of annoying, but aren’t that bad if you work with others.

i’ll be taking bio 1101 and 1103 in the fall, but i’ve never taken ap bio. unfortunately, i could never take it in high school because of scheduling conflicts…so how much of a disadvantage will i be at, do you think? i’ve borrowed one of my friends ap bio review books for the summer to read, and i last took bio honors in 9th grade…

^i don’t think you’d be at much of a disadvantage. i remember in 1102 the prof announced that for one of the prelims, ppl who did ap (or got a 5 on ap, can’t remember) did like 3% better on average than non-ap ppl. not sure if that’s the right number, but it was something like that. the material is pretty straightforward though, so just read the book carefully and you should be ok.
