Hello, I’m attending Cal Poly SLO this fall and will be majoring in biochemistry! I was wondering if anyone has any experience with the program at the school, or any tips I should know about. I was also wondering if any alumni could talk about what jobs their biochemistry degree got them, or the path they are on now and what prepared them for it at the school.
My daughter will be starting SLO as a biochemistry major as well! Looking forward to replies. I have heard good thing about their STEM programs but no specifics.
I don’t know if you viewed the grad status report for 2015/16 (last year printed) for biochemistry https://careers.calpoly.edu/search.php . My son is close friends with one biochemistry grad (June 2017) and she is pursuing her PhD.
Most biochemistry majors go on to grad school, veterinary or medical school. It’s a great stepping stone degree.
