How is everyone adjusting to their courses?

Any comments from your 09ers as you have almost completed the first two weeks. How are you parents coping with them being away?
Mine says things are pretty demanding (a lot of reading which he loves).
As far as campus life and activities he seems to love Princeton:)
We can't wait till Parents Weekend!

courses are less tough than i expected for the moment. Sure there's a lot of work, but you still get time to do other stuff. things will probably change as midterm draws near...

It's a lot more work than I'd like but I'm surviving :)

My writing seminar is responsible for more work than my other 3 courses combined! (and my other courses are math, phy and chem!!)
but things are sailing on rite now, will have to work harder though!

Anyone doing Humanities Sequence 216-217 ?

My son dropped it as one of the precepts conflicted with FRS Dante's Inferno. He loves that course!

I'm doing the hum sequence. It is a great course, although it has an incredibly difficult workload. The lectures alone would make it worth doing several hundred pages of reading a week plus a paper every two weeks, but in addition the precepts are conducted entirely by the professors, who are supposed to be among the best in the school. Although I haven't seen enough of Princeton to compare, I see no reason to doubt this.

Basically, I have a lot of work, but I still have ample time to enjoy myself as well. For me, the hardest thing has been maintaining my confidence in a world in which everyone is so intelligent.

ICargirl....Congrats on getting into Hum. I heard they only took around 30 freshmen.

I'm in HUM too and loving it!

i took dante's inferno last year, and it was great. It was with fleming last year- marchesi is really cool too though

Interesting. My D, veteran of a US prep school albeit a Catholic one, doesn't find the work too hard so far. The internationals seem to suffer more?

One of my son's greatest disappointments was learning that Fleming wasn't teaching this year. He must be fantastic in the Seminars as he certainly was engaging at the pre-frosh reception.
