I heard that food at UT Austin was better than most colleges, but I want to hear about the experience and the various restaurants near it. Also, I was wondering whether the 1500 dine-in dollars and the 300 bevo bucks would last ,for the average person, two entire semesters or whether we should pay out of our pocket. If the latter is true, approximately how much does it cost to eat outside everyday at least for both lunch and dinner?

If you look at the website it gives $ amounts for breakfast lunch and dinner. My son rarely eats breakfast but will definately eat lunch and dinner. I figure it will last him the fall and he will have to pay an additional $1000 - 1250. You save money by using dine in dollars vs bevo buck or cash meals which are significantly higher. I figure he will use the bevo bucks for laundry which is $1 to wash and $1 to dry. 3 loads a week. Whites, darks and towels. If you eat one meal per day and occasionally 2 then $1500 might last you. I’m betting on it not lasting for my son who is a big eater. You might also get your parents or friends to send you a monthly care package if you don’t have a car. I hear snacks are very expensive there.

Snacks are only expensive if you use small markets, but the bus is a an easy trip to Whole Foods or HEB. I don’t know much about dinning at UT because our daughter stayed at SRD. UT is surrounded by restaurants and food trucks. And the food in Austin is remarkably innovative and delicious.
