Bowdoin has business? Many of these schools are going to be looking beyond your stats to your ECs and- in the case of the Catholic schools- appreciation for global improvements through economic activity.
Hi @Oregon2016, I have Bowdoin on my list because I also enjoy the idea of a liberal arts education and combining learning economics with something varied and different
Merrimack Tutors: Founder and President - Community-wide tutoring organization that offers free tutoring to several schools within district
DECA: Financial Analysis state qualifier, attended international conference, fundraising coordinator
NHS: VP
School Council: Student Rep
XC, winter track, spring track
Research: Researched socioeconomics and economic impact of community with local community college
Seeking alpha: Write equity research articles for seeking alpha website
Well, make sure you understand the Augustinian, Dominican, and Jesuit education principles. BC’s CSOM is very very popular. Since Bowdoin went test optional its RD round has been crazy. Good luck!
I think you have a pretty decent mix of reaches, matches and safeties – assuming you can afford them and that you have really read up on these schools and like them all.
Just make sure you put the necessary work and passion into your apps, and you should be fine.
Some of these will have Business as a major (with options like Finance, Marketing and Accounting within that school…), while others will offer Economics.
Make sure you scour the course catalogs of the schools that only offer Econ – if you want a rounded Business education, you’re not going to get that if the school doesn’t offer any classes in Finance, Ops, Marketing, Acctg, etc.
If you are interested in LACs, one that does have some semblance of a Business major is Bucknell.
It’s a solid list of schools. What’s your home state? Massachusetts? If something else, I’d also apply to state flagship - or Binghamton if NY. Which college at Cornell will you apply to? That makes a difference. Do you like the idea of co-op? That’s a big part of Northeastern. You might also look at Bucknell - good business and your stats should get you in. In the middle of nowhere and heavy greek - but about twice as many students as Bowdoin. Good luck.
