How is the At&t...

I know this thread shouldn't be post on this, but I don't where else to post.

Okay, I'm thinking about getting the new Iphone 4G this summer, so I want to know: How good is the At&t signal around the UCLA and also the apartments around UCLA? why? because I plan to live around Kelton Ave & Ophir Dr, which is located right next to the campus.

Thank you for your reply =D

LA is a big town which means that you will find a cell tower every mile or so, but I don’t believe that there are any active 4G sites in California right now. The area around LA already has plenty of towers so they are not likely to upgrade them any time soon.

I don’t think Los Angeles has 4G coverage, yet.

…neither does the new iPhone 4, still 3g. You’ll have full 3g service everywhere.

At&t Coverage in LA/O.C is great there are a few deadspots but not too bad.

It’s SF/New york that is horrible

It’s good but sometimes can fail…

I’m not going to get the 4, my relatives got the phone ahead of time and I’ve played with it, not too impressed. A couple of bugs they need to fix before I get it. Plus there’s a rumored iPhone 5 for late next year. =/

AT&T service is horrible at UCLA. I have an iPhone too. I’m not too sure about the apartments but it’s almost impossible to get reception in the dorms.

That’s the thing about Apple. I always feel like I’m getting jipped because a few months later they always come out with newer editions.

It’s okay whenever I head to my friends rooms in DeNeve but the dropped calls can get so freaking annoying. I once had a call drop ten times in a row with the same person, ugh.

Yeah…I’m pretty set on not getting the 4…hopefully the updates will come in a couple of months because I am getting pretty bored of the 3GS, ha-ha.

Thanks guys about your reply!!

How about Verizon? Is it better?

@rheeL3

LOL maybe it was the feds.

LOL.

Anyways, yes of course Verizon is better. I loveee Verizon service/coverage and if it wasn’t so damn expensive, I would totally have it right now. If you can afford it, go for it!

i was around LA looking for apartments. Verizon had some dead spots. verizon might be a little better than at&t but its nowhere near “perfect.”

Of course every service carrier has dead spots, but compared to AT&T…lol. The dropped calls are ridiculous. =/

I’ve gotten my phone bill waived for four months for the continued FAIL service. (I call in and complain for about an hour, works every time because they know it’s true!)

AT&T 3G service is good in LA from my experience, including Westwood. Get the iPhone 4 and FaceTime your time away @ at UCLA (wi fi only, though) lol

Iphone 4 is still 3G, AT&T has not even begun to launch a 4G network.

Yes, it’s the iPhone 4 not the iPhone 4G. Sorry that just bugged me! =/

Haha Rheel3! That ticks me off for some reason too. I used to be a Genius at Apple, I’d here stuff like that all the time (iTouch instead of iPod Touch). Although if by 4G, they mean fourth generation that would be fine - but we know they don’t.

Oh yeah, it irks me when my friends call it the iTouch. I walk away now, I used to scream, hahaha.

yay apple fans!^^
