How is the Computer Engineering & Computer Science Dual Major?

I'm interested in switching from Computer Science to CECS. I noticed that CS has a lot of free electives which is awesome, but CECS fills those electives with some EE classes. I'm more interested in CS and obtaining some kind of software job as opposed to a hardware job, but I think the EE hardware courses will make me more versatile. What do you guys think?

During the admitted students reception, at the CS info session, all the students there were either CECS students or CECS alumni. They all talked about how the EE classes helped them land a job due to their knowledge of how a software application runs from a hardware perspective (or something like that). With that being said, I think EE is way harder than CS, so it may not be for everyone.

CS allows you to pick and choose electives that you think could land you a job. CECS forces you to take EE classes. It’s really up to you.

I take that back. You only take 3 more EE classes in CECS over CS, and you get to put the dual major of “Computer Engineering + Computer Science” on your resume. I think CECS is the way to go.

Any other input? Thanks!
