my parents make below 60,000
how much will i receive? are they as bad as NYU in terms of financial aid?

We were pleasantly surprised with the FA package Michigan offered! Our OOS son received close the 30,000 in grants, loans and work study, leaving us to come up with the other 18,000 or so. The package was the best he received from any of the other schools he applied too!

Good luck!

Was your family EFC 18K?

what financial aid?

Princeton, I think it’s safe to say that Umich is not as stingy with aid as NYU.
However, UMich only commits to meeting 100% need of in state students, so often out of state students with means do not necessarily like their packages. At the same time, we occasionally hear of a kid on these threads that ends up with 100% of identified need met from out of state.
You best bet is to try for admission, but also ensure you’ve selected an in-state financial safety that you would enjoy so that you don’t find yourself making a regrettable financial decision come April. Good luck!

i am not sure what my family’s EFC will be.
but its not much.

thanks for the responses
