Hey guys! I'm considering to apply to the Junior Program at Smith College but I'm not sure if it is worth my time since it takes me at least one semester to do it. Does any math student wanna share their advanced math courses learning experience at Smith? To me it seems like there is a pretty tight math community supporting students to do research at Smith from the website but I'm not sure how it actually is. So the gist of my questions is:

1) How is the math program at Smith in general? like the quality of advanced courses, the quality of math students, the opportunity of doing researches, the networking w math women etc.

2) Any past experience/advice of the Junior Program from previous participants?

I'll greatly appreciate if someone can help me out!

Anyone wanna share their math experience at Smith? I’m grateful for any feedback. :)

I’m a math major at Smith. Feel free to PM me.
Here are quick responses. But first, I know a girl who spent her junior year at Smith for the math program who ended up transferring! So, it’s a good program

We have an awesome network with tons of research opportunities. We have a class every semester just to do research, plus professors are always doing special studies and taking on groups to work with.

Big downside: if you are coming from a big school, we definitely have fewer course offerings. Analysis is offered once a year as is algebra. Some upper levels are taught only every two. But the classes are INCREDIBLE. Really dedicated professors making sure you learn. Plus, an all women environment is kick ass

In short, I would consider it. Feel free to ask more
