<p>I have applied to petroleum engineering at Stanford and I am just wondering how it compares to other schools such as UT Austin. If I go there, I am pretty much going for the "Stanford" name. Is it as recognized as the texan schools? Do graduates stay in cali or do they go to texas? Last of all, is the program more theory based?</p>
<p>Hi. How hard is it to get into Stanford’s MS or PhD programs in Petroleum Engineering. I read some stats on Peterson’s that said their acceptance rate is 44%. Is this true? </p>
<p>How hard are petroleum engineering graduate schools to get into in general? I ask this because the acceptance rates posted by US News, Peterson’s, et al seem to me ridiculously high. Thx</p>
