How is the Physics major like?

If anyone Physics majors can answer these questions, that would be awesome.

  1. I heard a lot of people complain about Experimental Physics. What's wrong with it?
  2. For the 13100 Physics sequence, how do the tests work? If you know the homework cold and study, can you get an A on the test? Or are there usually lots of tricky problems that never show up on homework or lectures?
  3. Which Physics classes (from the required ones) are hardest and why? Which ones are easiest and why?
  4. How is the quality of instruction usually in Physics classes?
  5. What is a common reason people fail or change major from Physics
  6. Any advice you would offer a Physics major?

My son found Experimental Physics easier than he had been told, but other classes much harder.
