Hello everyone, I plan to apply to the CS PhD program at University of Waterloo and hope to find a faculty position after its graduation. I was wondering the reputation of Waterloo’s CS PhD students in seeking faculty positions? In contrast with PhD programs in US universities, what’s the rank (or level) University of Waterloo should be at?

Or you could contact the department itself and ask them if they have placement records. If not, then you can talk to a few professors in the department to see where they have placed recent graduates in the last 5 or so years.
Also look at the publications of the professors that you are interested in. Check them out on Google Scholars. Getting a faculty position is at least as much, probably more, about the connections and reputation and recommendation of your advisor. as it is about the school’s reputation. Waterloo definitely has a reputable CS program.
