<p>As far as peers go, I received better treatment in college. At least I wasn't harassed and teased on a day to day basis. Most kids were more mature, too, and seemed to understand that the fact that a person was idiosyncratically different didn't mean that they had to make his life miserable.</p>
<p>As far as professors are concerned, a lot better, too. They were very intelligent and far from being the idiots that most of my high school teachers were.</p>
<p>School personnel. Worse. The administrative assistants, advisors, counselors, etc in high school were always warm and friendly. In college it was impossible for me to perform a task as basic as requesting a copy of my academic transcript or career advice without being treated condescendingly. "Garbage" is the word I'd use to describe what they seemed to perceive me as.</p>
