Do they value any research experience for those applying to the sciences? Anyone have any info on this?

Thanks.

Thanks.

My friend got in ED with two years of research at Duke during the summer. He had the same GPA as me, and I got waitlisted RD.

Although he had better overall extracurrics, but I had better test scores. I think he applied for Biology. Too many factors to say that he got in because of it, but from current students at jhu, ive heard the school likes undergrads who do research.

i think it’s safe to say it’s a trend. i did research at a penn state lab and got in. i think it’s definitely something they like seeing as they’re such a research based university

I definitely thinks it helps. Anything that positive that u can add to your app is a plus. But if you don’t have any research experiences, I don’t think it’s detrimental for your app. I didn’t have any research experiences during high school and I just got into BME at Hopkins.

Thanks, JHU is probably my to choice and I got a lan research position at a local university this sumner, so I was curious

I also want to hopefully do BME :)
