So I've been hearing that learning word roots is more effective than memorizing actual words. So where do you suppose I could find a good list of roots to learn? Thanks

If you get Directs Hits vocab book volumes I and II they have chapters that deal with word roots that help on the SAT. You can purchase the book on Direct Hits Publishing - Lulu.com

Ryan123 - what is your impression of the Direct Hits books? BTW good luck when the SAT scores come out in 29 hours.

Seamonster: I believe that the direct hits book is very good and many of the 360+ words in both volumes are hits on the SAT. (see thread on results from May/March SAT from dark knight). The examples of the words are funny because they are connected to popular culture through celebrities, movies, and literature. I definitely recommend the Direct Hits book to anyone.

And good luck to you too!
