Are many Trinity students politically active? If so, would you say the general population is more liberal or conservative?

My son is a sophomore at Trinity, and my sense is that Trinity is middle of the road for the US. It is liberal for Texas, but probably a little conservative compared to the country. The important thing is that their seems to be a difference of opinion on campus without any animosity.

Thank you!

If you have any more questions about Trinity please feel free to message me. My wife and I are on the Trinity Parents Council, and try to keep up with all that is going on there.

^ so in general then, is your son having a typical college experience at Trinity or are there areas he finds lacking?

He is really enjoying Trinity, but I would not call his experiences typical. He spent part of the summer after his freshman year in Turkey working on a computer program to help nautical archaeologists map underwater debris fields (<a href=“Private Site”>Private Site). The one area he finds lacking is big time athletics. He grew up a UT fan and played football and rugby in high school. He always pictured football games / sports as a big part of college life. Sports are very good at Trinity, but they are good at a DIII level and not what my son experienced going to UT sporting events.
