To mcgoogly, modestmelody, and the other college students who have not been able to break free from the high school culture so they post on this board for years:

Harvard’s Professor Gates, Jr. is the exact type of professor to whom I was referring. Gates has spent so much time basking in his cocoon of liberal idealism/victimhood and riding around in chauffeured limousines to his well-kept neighborhood, that the moment he was confronted by a white man of authority, he displayed the arrogance and conceit common to the professors I have met. He repeatedly told the officer things like, “Do you have any idea who you’re dealing with?” and “I am no one to mess with!” Gates is so used to being kowtowed to, he couldnt accept the notion that a white police officer would dare ask him for identification. What arrogance. What myopia. Gates is reportedly now confused why so many regular Americans have concluded that he was to blame. Many professors are so accustomed to students – people who bow down to them, accept every opinion they have as being Gospel truth without question, and vow to be like them someday – that they can’t understand when anyone disagrees with or criticizes them. It’s pretty sad.

With respect to my claim that professors have lost touch with the real world, I encourage everyone to watch this CNN video: [Uppity Blacks vs Blue Collar Whites: Shame on Prof.Gates - iReport.com](http://www.ireport.com/docs/DOC-303137)

In this video, an African-American woman expresses her outrage with people like Gates who live privileged lives and become rich discussing issues like racism, issues that don’t really impact their lives, while the real community suffers.
