How long are most people's commonapp essays?

its just that most essays I write (for school) are 3 pages min. and in this essay, I dont believe I’m being redundant or verbose. i have a lot to say

If you have a lot to say, use that same information and condense like it a good writer.

“condense like it a good writer” LOL

1500 and 1000 so far… but that’s because I just put my ideas on paper, I am aiming for 1000 MAX when I’m done revising.

Mine is 660 words. I heard that it’s fine as long as it fits on two pages double-spaced.

Mine is 566. I think above the minimum and then as long as you like.

From what I understand colleges want quality over quantity. If it’s 1000 words long chances are you are not concise enough…If it’s 1,000 words of literary gold I’m sure they wouldn’t mind =).

my commonapp essay is now 700 and my supplemental to yale is 550

Mine is about 480 words.
I think It is pretty good too.

508 words.

oh no! mine is like 1,183 words!
i didn’t know they were supposed to be that short…haha oh god i have to cut a lot out i guess…

Mine is 708.

Like said before, I’ve heard that at most you should be submitting 750-word essays.

Mine was 749. :-)

760ish, I think.

Mine’s 882 words. Condensed from 1200 something words, 2.5 pages double spaced.

Mine’s 902…

600-700 words is a good range.

584 abouts

seems that this 800 range is the consensus on CC

I think mine ended up being 620. Keeping it under 1 page is good.
