How long did you study for math 2 and world?

How long?

Now that it's the end of the year I'm having major problems finding time to study for these SAT IIs, so can anyone say how long they studied to do well (750-800) in World and Math 2? Which is it better to devote more time to?

I don't know if I did well or not (most likely not), but for math iic I studied maybe 5 hours in total. Not enough for sure.

Really, it depends. If you're already very good at math, then a few hours will do. But I studied for about a month, and took like 15 practice tests (I even took some of them twice). That's just me though. On the real test, I omitted two questions, and as for the rest, ummm let's keep our fingers crossed. Good luck

Liike panda said, if you're good at math, you really don't need to study much for the math... I just took it, and found it very easy and quick (finished with about 15 minutes left). I got one abstract question wrong, but other than that I think I was perfect. If you're taking pre-calculus or above, you have nothing to worry about. Being proficient with the TI helps too.

Focus on World History

I agree with phil and panda. Good at math and good with your calc helps. I just took 3 Barron tests and read over my pre-calc class notes.

Took me a Christmas break to finish Math IIC, among other things that happened during the holidays. Doesn't take a long time to study for math. As long as you've prepared yourself, you're pretty much good to go on the real thing.

Kaplan's SAT II World History.

Problem Solved.

Period. (that book pwns)

Hey cali45 - would you mind telling me how the scores you got on Barron's tests related to the actual score you got/think you got?

Because I'm using that to prepare for the IIC right now, but I'd be very disappointed if I got that kind of score on the real thing...

ugh, don't use barrons... waste of time and energy, unless you HAVE the time and energy though, go ahead.

^ Well I don't really have that much time... I started studying with it over April break, and I'm doing the test in June... still, I want to do as well as I possibly can! Ugh.

Are you all learning how to use your TI's in school or are you teaching yourself? At my school we are not allowed to use a calculator for any of pre-cal. (only my teacher) I'm just wondering if this is the norm, or do most schools teach you how to use your calculator? I'm mad cuz now I have to pay for a tutor to learn this stuff before I take the test. I know from reading this MB that you need the calculator for at least 5 of the questions, and even more to finish the test. Any thoughts? thanks

for world can i just use my ap barrons?
my parents dont wanna waste money buying a book that im just gonna use for a one time deal and there r no libraries near my house that have it....

its not really a "waste" if it will help you get a better score.
I mean $15 or 50 more points on the SAT II?
pretty easy choice in my opinion... unless you're in EXTREME financial problems

I think Barrons is pretty good anyway for world

barron's really isn't that long.

you're really buying, hopefully, barron's for the tests
