I am planning to apply to Penn CAS because I am interested in studying mathematics at the college. But I would also like to do a dual degree with Wharton(for better recruitment opportunities). I have a couple questions. Advice from current student is greatly appreciated!
If I get accepted into Penn CAS and apply for a dual degree with Wharton freshmen year, can I complete a dual degree within four years?
How difficult is it to get accepted for a dual degree between Wharton and CAS?
How difficult is the workload if I do get accepted into the dual degree program?

Will take same 4 years. Relatively easy to dual-degree, just make sure to have a 3.7+ by the end of freshman year. The workload is tougher, but still quite manageable as long as your prioritize academics.

Thanks! Are you a current Penn student? @breaker746

Yup I am a dual-degree student

If you are very sure that if accepted to Penn you will do a dual degree with Wharton and The College of Arts and Sciences (“CAS”) then apply to Wharton. If accepted you will likely find it easier to get accepted to CAS for the second major than, as a CAS student, to get accepted to Wharton.

For details regarding the process see: <a href=“Dual Degree | College of Arts & Sciences - University of Pennsylvania”>https://www.college.upenn.edu/dual-degree

I want my focus to be more on math than on business. I’ve done some research about Wharton. I don’t feel that I should spend my undergraduate years learning business because I plan to pursue a MBA for grad school anyway. Meanwhile I would like my undergraduate years to be more of an intellectual experience because I feel like it is the only four years of my life where I can do that ( I don’t plan on getting Phd btw).
