Hi everyone, I was looking SGU School of Medicine tuition information and I see that the price per term is approximately 25k. So, would u go through all 5 terms in one year? What about pre-med, how many terms are in the premed year for the BS/MD program? I'm sorry if these questions seem ridiculous but I have NO idea about this whole fee per term thing and what not. Thanks in advance.

Read a little more on the site, I think it answers most of your questions:

[Medical sciences college program at St. George’s University overview](http://www.sgu.edu/school-of-medicine/sgu-medical-sciences-program.html)

I would highly advise you to exhaust all other options before considering SGU. Bottom line is you have about 40-50% chance of not being able to obtain a residency/board certification if you graduate from SGU.

I know, but I was looking at SGU because I am a Caribbean student and it’s almost impossible for internationals that are not Canadian to get into med schools in America. In another thread there was a compiled list and most med schools don’t accept internationals at all and for those that did the average was approx. 3 per year to the schools that did accept international and quite a number of those schools that claim to accept internationals didn’t accept any in the past 4 years. Also, there was the fact that even if you were accepted you would have to pay $250,000 upfront for all four years of your education before you’re even allowed to matriculate. That’s why I was looking at SGU.

Edit: Also, after reading that link, after adding up the cost for all the terms it seems that it will cost ~$250,000 for tuition alone, without room & board, books, travelling, food, other expenses. Am I right? Is it normally, or suppose to be like that? Did I do something incorrect in adding or something like that (this includes 1 term of premed for the BS/MD program)? Speaking of which how long is the prememd year for the BS anyway? 1 term? 3 terms? Thanks for all the help.

This might not be the best forum for specific answers about SGU because it seems like most applicants and parents on this board are more familiar with US allopathic and osteopathic medical schools. I can’t even believe I’m writing this, but Student Doctor Network might be a better bet. Wouldn’t surprise me at all if there’s a thread for SGU! Good luck :)

While the SDN recommendation is always a great one for any premed issue, the best place to go for foreign med school questions is actually a separate forum … google ValueMD.
