how long is too long for the why emory essay?

1000 words? eek?

That might be a lil too long. but hey, whatever it takes to get the message across. If your essay is concise and supports the reasons to go there, then go ahead and send it. However, i think there's a 6000 character limit. You might want to double check on that.

If it's that long, I would review it very thoroughly and see if there is anything you can possibly cut out. If there isn't, then fine; it will be a very persuasive essay. If, as is more likely the case, there is, then your essay will benefit greatly from some trimming.

The long essay is supposed to be about 250-750...so I would try and keep it around 200-250 at most. Both of mine are 256 exactly, and I'm thinking maybe that's a bit too long too.

mine is about 350...but it gets to the point and there's alot of information...is that ok?

i got mine from 780 words to 325. i just cut about 90% of the fluff and said why i wanted to go.

I so like the fluff, though. =P

Thanks, I was just coming here to ask the same question. I don't really know if they want a short 200-250 essay or like, a nice solid 600 (which still kills me to trim it to!) essay.

mine is 400 words, i just wrote about why i want to go to emory, without any regard for length

Like Pyar, mine was about 400 words. I didn't pay much attention to length.
