How long is YOUR essay?

3 pages is definetly too long, you don't want your essay to be a burden for the admission officers.

3 pages!!!
wow.
yea i agree with grey, they mite not even read the whole thing

I don't know...

cuz last time I heard someone wrote 10 pages and he still got in.

I'll try to reduce it, but I think it's just staying as it is...
(I'm not writing the influential class essay though-since I'm using common app these essays are somewhat optional:))

yea but recommended
according to laxfan

I don't quite understand what they are looking for in $10 essay.
Do they want to know how effectively you can use it? or does it matter at all?

I think the purpose of the $10 essay is to gage your creativity. Organization and concision are good too, but i think your craft is the focus.

Mine is six hundred and seventeen words.

is 339 for the $10 essay and 170 for the influential course essay too short?

how long was everybody's influential class essay? they said brief so mine was 200 words.

just over 600 for the $10 essay, and about 330 for the influential

my $10 essay is about 660 words...
barely fits the common app supplement

371 influential, 422 - $10 essay (it's not really in the typical essay format though)

500 influential (I also used it for the common app for other schools). I didn't do the $10 essay, but I might write it and send it in in the next few days. The website says that supporting materials like recommendations, essays, and transcripts can be sent up to 2 weeks after the deadline.

339 for my influential essay
