I know the old adage that longer essays score higher, but I was wondering how long most essays are. How many pages in the booklet did ya'll write?

For folks who have received high scores in the past, how many booklet pages was your essay?

My son said his was a full two pages and, when he was turning his in, his impression was that this was how everyone else’s looked. He felt good about his essay but said he could not have written 3-4 pages.

mine was like two pages. topic was like effects of conversational techs… and it was not two full page it was kinda one and 3/4page. and i saw the person next to me had one page :D

Two full pages and six paragraphs. I couldn’t possibly write more and have no idea how anyone does. On practice tests (through Kaplan) I have gotten 10s before by writing this much.

I’ve taken the test once and got a 12 on the writing section. I think I covered just under 3 pages with semi-large handwriting. The main advice I would give is be sure to mention both sides of the issue, and bring in how the issue would impact education (know your graders). Education can be spun to be relevant in any prompt. For example, my prompt was on taxing unhealthy food, and I mentioned how obesity greatly affects bullying and, therefore, education. And don’t be afraid to be a little witty. Entertain yourself! I said how paunchiness was a scourge to society. Have fun! And I say that for the writing section alone, as it doesn’t affect your composite score.

Mine wasn’t quite 2 pages, like a page and 3/4. I wrote a little less my first time and overall it was a worse essay (at least IMO) and I got an 8. This one I’m hoping for a 10, expecting an 8 or 9.
