How long will audition take?

Hi- i’ve got an audition scheduled for March 9th, but i’m also wanting to schedule another on March 10th for a different school. Does anyone know approximately how long the audition will take?

I can’t find any info on the website.

Thanks :)

It’s not so much how long will the audition components take, but when will you be done. At UMich (and I’m working from last year’s memories, so people with more current experiences can update this!) there were separate acting, singing, piano and dance components. The dance class was a full class, each of the other pieces only a few minutes, but it really depended on schedule when you are done – my d was finished by about 4 pm; another friend much later in the day, just due to when the individual things were scheduled for each person that day.

My d did her UMich audition one day, then traveled to Baldwin-Wallace for an audition the next day (we drove between the two schools and crashed in a hotel near B-W) so, depending on the distance/transportation between schools it is possible (but tiring!) to do a multi-site audition weekend.

Best advice, if you have your email confirmation of your audition info, call the school and ask if they can give you an idea of your appointment slots for the day.

Good luck and safe travels!

Mommafrog is right–it really just depends on when your time slots for the various audition components happen to be. One boy we were talking to had the last voice audition slot at 5:30–now that’s a long day! When we arrived in the morning, we found that one of my daughter’s audition times had changed from when it had been initially assigned, so it’s possible they may have moved time slots around to accommodate others’ travel needs. I would suggest calling the school to see if there is any flexibility.

awesome. i planned my flight for 9 pm so that should give me plenty of time. thanks!
