i'm taking 3; 6$ a test... like those above, how does your school take care of the rest of the costs?

My school is making students pay the full price of each AP test.

my school is to but if you need fincial help then they will give you money but a lot of people pay for it thereselves or their parents

We pay the full price of everything except Calc, English Language, and science at my school. I'm taking Calc AB, Gov, English Language, and Chem.

full price for each exam (ouch!)

7 by graduation
4 - junior
3 - senior

and that's a LOT at my school.

I'm cheating and using IB and AP exams.
10th-1 AP
11th-2 AP, 2 IB SL
12th-6 AP, 5 IB HL

Total: 9 AP, 7 IB

I'm taking 5 this year (microecon, macroecon, chem, eng. lit., calc ab) for a total of 6. Is it always worth taking credit, even for exams you bs and still get a good score? It happened to me in stats last year. I didn't know what I was doing, and I got a 4. Should I get credit for that in college? I'm interested in economics/accounting/finance (business).

7....

Calc AB
US Hist
Chemistry
Eng Lang
Calc BC (in another year)
Statistics
Euro Hist

However I may decide to up this and try Psych and/or English Lit

6 by graduation

2 this year:

AP Euro
AP Stat

4 next year:

AP Physics
AP Calc BC
AP French
AP Lit

I'll take 11 by graduation:

1 freshman year (Spanish)
2 sophmore year (European History and Art History)
4 this year (Bio, Calc BC, English Language and US History)
4 senior year (Chemistry, Statistics, English Lit, and Government)

And the exams are free at my school. They supposedly give us grants or something. I would not be taking so many if I had to pay $82 a test. That's really not fair for those of you that do. And so many kids at my school don't take advantage of the chance and get like 1s. They really take the tests for granted.

Is there any advantage in taking so many APs? I know you can get college credits but does it help in your college application?

Junior year :3
Senior year:3
My school allows only a maximum of 3 each year and there is no AP until Junior year. And yes, we pay for the Exams, all 100% or it. It is a private school.

hmm i'll have 9 by the end of this year.. prob 7-8 more next year

u need a life chanman

If you'll have taken more than 8 exams be the end of your junior year, you're pushing it. At least in my opinoin :)

Don't waste your money. What you're saying to colleges when you take an excess of AP exams is that you don't have anything better to do with your time or money.

I might sound harsh but I believe that once you have taken 5 or so exams, you're done. A lot of colleges won't accept credit for exams even if you get 5's anyway.

It's over $100 for my school!!!!! (I think... if not it's just around there.)

Tenth Grade:
AP European History

Eleventh Grade:
AP Composition
AP Biology
AP United States History
SUPA Spanish IV

Twelfth Grade:
AP Literature
AP Calc AB
AP Physics
AP Spanish
SUPA Economics

I think that's 10. Recounts Yeah, 10. Weirddd!!!

3 last year, 1 this year. but the 3 i took last year dont count for crap because stanford wont credit those (bio, lang, ushistory) so this year i will only take calc

by senior year i will have 11
I don't believe in taking AP exams that you have not taken the class for. Otherwise, many people could self-study for AP Stats, get an easy 3 or 4 (or maybe even a 5 if they were smart), and take something like Chem or Physics during the year. Self-studying is bogus. The AP exams are supposed to measure what you learned in the school year, not what you crammed in the past month!

I'm taking 9 this year.

15 total.

10 or 11...

i wont get 5s on all of them, tho

ive got 6 this year...
took 2 last year...
have one next year

thats 9.
