Eight here. Yeaaah, ouch - three are self-studied, though, and I'm thinking of taking out one of those. I couldn't tell you what the average here is - probably one, or none - but the kids who DO take AP classes at all usually take three or four.

I took 5. And our school only does 6 classes a day.

But that wasn't normal. 3-4 was normal, I think.

I took five. I'm only taking two this year (senior year). I took two sophomore year.

5 at school and maybe 3-4 self study

I took two, but some take 3.

im taking 4
english lang
chemistry
us history
calculus

I took 3: Chemistry, Spanish Literature, World History. Most at my level took four, courtesy of the split Economics exam. This year I get to take advantage of both split tests and earn 8 AP credits.

I took 5: US, Comp, Bio, Psych, and AB Calc
I was also taking a dual enrollment (college) class and a medical school course. ha. It's manageable, but I basically stopped sleeping and kind of went a little nutty.

im a junior and im taking AP calculus, AP chem, AP bio, and AP physics C...

4: USH, Comp, Chem, Calc AB

I only know of 1 person who taking 5 APs at my school, most are 2 - 3.

ap euro, ap chem

I'm taking 3 IBs and 4 one-semester college courses.

And research/international music competitions trumps a lot of things.

I'm taking AP bio, chem, and euro next year. But I'm already taking AP Stats and AP US. History sophmore year.

I am currently enrolled in one AP course this semester, AP Environmental Science. I am also enrolled in AP English and AP Statistics next semester. We are affiliated with a Web Academy, so I was considering taking APUSH and/or AP European History as extra courses (night-time classes). So my minimum I am taking is 3, but I am considering taking a maximum of 5.

Speaking of APUSH and AP Euro, how difficult would it be to take them at the same time? Do you think it would be confusing to take these the same semester?

Chem, Bio, Stat, English, Art History, MacroEcon, Maybe EnviroSci or MicroEcon

Ehh, lucky. We can't take AP English until senior year

There's an AP Junior English and Senior English

usually 2 AP's at my school, ap english and apush. some has 3 with ap stats. but there are like 1 or 2 people that take all the 3 I mentioned plus ap physics.

i'd say 3 is enough. 4 if you want some challenge.

At my school, it's only one junior year, then 4-5 senior year. The junior year is either USH, art studio or art history, sometimes chem. Some daring people take two junior year AP's.

But really AP isn't that hot at my school, our honors classes are often harder than AP, and the reason we don't offer a lot of AP's is because they would restrict the curriculum more than most students and teachers want.
