How many can I get wrong? The blue book scoring thing sucks with the ranges, because I don't want a 680-800 range score. I'm missing 4-5 on the CR (although it varries, sometime I miss only 2 on CR!). What kind of score could I expect? Also, I don't know how to effectively use the time... I usually finish in 12-14 minutes per section (and then just move to the next section because i hate checking over my work, sometimes I might make a correct answer wrong by second guessing). What do you guys suggest?

yes you can

Use your time wisely and check over your work for careless errors especially for the SC questions which are pure logic.

You are darn quick if you show that speed on the Wr and CR, for thats where (at times) i stuggle to finish off gracefully

And yes you can get 750

I think it's because in the last year I haven't read a single novel. The only reading I have done is either textbook, magazine/CNN type articles, or scientific papers (which I think helps the most because those are very dense so you have to really get what's happening).

How is it possible to finish a CR section in 12 minutes?

if you get 4or 5 wrong on CR

expect 740-800

can you even move to the next section??

at the end of the section, it says work on this section only?

I think he means that he stops working on that section, resets the timer, and then continues on to the next section.
Some people are so desperate for a high score on the SAT that they cheat. :(

Simple solution: stop getting questions wrong.

are we provided with timers during the test????

Maybe he means during practice tests at home, where there are no rules about moving ahead to other sections ahead of time.

well, alright

lol.

Yeah, at home obviously. You have to be retarded to give away that much time on the SAT so you can just move on. Once I finish with a section and I'm satisfied with my answers, I move onto the next section. I don't have tons of free time to waste on stuff like the SAT. Oh, and yes you are allowed a stopwatch if it's built into your wrist watch (digital ftw!).

Lol, i think arbiter's suggestion is the best. At this point there isn't much I can do about it, just hope for the best I suppose.

ShadowWriter: You were right, if I check through a little more carefully I can sometimes avoid really stupid mistakes.

For some reason I miss the majority of my points lost in the 19 question section...

i got a 760(CR) on this last oct SAT
i missed 4 and omitted 1

my friend got 5 wrong and got a 760

^ In October 2007?

yeah, october's was difficult, so the curve was rather lenient.

man in may i missed 5 and got a 730! i guess it was easier though.

I missed 3 and omitted 0 on my first SAT and received a 760 this past May.
