For a graduate student. I am in the computer Science Dept. and was thinking of taking 3 grad classes and an undergrad class(for my pre-requisite) this coming fall semester. would this be a huge courseload? I know that this depends on the classes/subject etc but generally how many classes do full-time grad students take every semester?

Usually 3 to 4 is fairly standard but it depends on the department and program. Usually you’ll meet with an advisor first who will give you a better idea.

The standard for a student on assistantship funding is three classes, or nine credits. Coupled with 20 hours a week of work, that’s a full program. If you’re not on assistantship, 12 credits is probably quite workable.

I’m not on any assistanship and neither do I work outside of school. I hope 12 credits(3 classes) works for me!!
