<p>Also, if ability to pay is a concern, avoid ED.
On the other hand early ACTION, is non-binding, and it’s nice to get at least one acceptance early, to alleviate some stress.</p>
<p>you can only apply to one school ED (any GC worth their salt is not going to sign off or send in evalatutions/recommendations to more than 1 ED school per student).</p>

<p>You need to be careful as pointed out above, you are committed if accepted. So apply to the one you want. You may look at EA schools which may allow multiple apps, but some like Yale and Stanford are SCEA, so you can only pick one. Some place on CC there is a comprehensive list of various early actions and Ed schools and the rules.</p>
