How many credits will everyone be graduating with?

Just out of Just out of curiosity, how many credit hours will everyone graduate with?

(I'll have 32, by the way)

32? What? I guess every state must calculate them differently. Ours is mostly 1 credit per semester (though I’m thinking things like gym/health are or have changed to 1/2…?). You need 40 to graduate and 47 (plus other requirements of course) for an honors diploma. I’m assuming, since you’re asking, that yours must be maybe 1/2 credit per semester.

So, to answer:

I think my D will have 61, as follows:
7 periods x 2 semesters x 4 years = 56
Less 1 for a study hall I insisted on first semester grade 9
3 summer school sessions
1 online class
Opted for credit for Honors French I and II in 8th grade (but opted not to take math credit)

If one took advantage of every summer school session AND online options through a local college (like health), AND got credit for taking high school honors language and honors algebra in grade 8…I THINK one could actually get up to about get up to about 66 ish or so.

Kind of comparing apples to oranges here if they’re calculated differently (which they obviously are if you have 32). Plus which, I have a friend in the same state that says her child’s school has EIGHT classes per day. Seems odd, since both schools have the same state-required number of credits.

high school credits or college credits?

college credits? my dd will have either 21 or 28.

Oh! I’m SO stupid! Credit - HOURS. College. I guess I ASSUME everyone on here is still LOOKING to get into college at this point.
