How many? Does it help?

Well I have 2 questions that I guess pertain to each other.
How many high schools out there have an engineering major? specifically the Aerospace Engineering major?
And if you are involved in such major, does it help on your application to apply to that same major in college? Specifically Cornell?
Since Cornell has a Mechanical Engineering major that combines Aerospace Engineering I was just curious.

As far as I know, in the U.S, there are no HIGH SCHOOLS that offer COLLEGE majors, because that is the entire reason of calling them COLLEGE majors… You can try some magnet schools, but that’s as close as you’re going to get to studying engineering in HIGH SCHOOL…

I go to the top public magnet school in my city, and we offer Principles of Engineering and Robotics Engineering as classes. But they’re pretty… mediocre.

The Principle of ENG is taught by a blind man. He’s funny, but he sleeps a lot.
Robotics ENG class spends an entire semester building one robot.

Robotics team is legit, though.

If you join the team or take the classes, it does show interest. How much will it help? Admissions officers are very hard to predict.
