HOw many essays do you have to write????

<p>is it normal if I just write one college essay? (if im applying to a college that's just common app). it seems like people right a lot more for no apparent reason</p>

<p>most schools have a supplement. most good schools have a lot of supplements. </p>

<p>ex. NYU has 5 short answer question (3oo character or words i dont remember)
ex. Many schools have a 'why x university' essay
ex. Rutgers, UMich, and alot of other state schools have a 'diversity' essay</p>

<p>A lot of state schools dont use the common app.</p>

<p>When I applied to undergrad years ago, none of my schools used the common app so i ended up doing 5 or 6 different essays. That's the reason.</p>
