How many hours did you study for the SAT?

I just wanna get an idea of how much people usually prep for the SAT. Just post an estimate of how many hours you studied! :) If you didn't then just post 0.

for Oct '07-a disturbing amount of hours. went to a 60 hour prep class (useless but still time) + at LEAST 60-100 hours on my own (1-2 hours a day)

for March '08-a relatively small amount. Friday and Saturday-probably 10-15 total

First time taking, started a month ago. Taking in March
Taken 3 practice tests (so like 10 hrs)
About 2 hrs prep first 2 weeks, then this week about 6 hrs (so about 10 hrs)
I plan on doing about 2 hrs review every day before march (10 hrs)
Total = 30 hrs over 4 weeks

First time Goal: 2100 (2200 on my best day)
Second time Goal (including superscore - in oct): 2300

0 .

Probably a total of over 40 hours is spent taking practice tests (4 hours a test, 10 tests, and then going over and analyzing answers)

Actual studying, though:
Well, I had to learn
- essay (takes an hour: read RocketReview and read a sample 12 SAT essay and try to copy what they did in terms of structure)
- math (none)
- reading/vocabulary (maybe total of 5-10 hours learning all the words, reading practice was on practice tests)
- writing (again, spent on practice tests)

So total of around 50 hours if you include taking all 10 practice tests in the blue book.

blue book has 8 tests. lol

2 hours :) my score wasn't the best and if I could do it again maybe I would have studied more, but it got me where I wanted to go and that is all that matters.

4 - one practice test.

Gah, too many. And I'm still not done... x_x

I estimated about 115 hours or somewhere in that area. Wow that sounds like insane prep, but I doesn't feel that much. By the time I take it on March 1 I'll probably be up to 118 hours.

I took about 6 practice tests for march 08.. so approximately 24 hours..

About 5. 4 for a practice test, then one on math. I got a 1930, so I'm planning on studying about 10 hours a week until June, when I'll take it again. Well, maybe not quite as much when I get closer to the test date......we'll see. :)

a hundred thousand

About 50 hours of my life went to SAT studying/practice exams.

quality not quantity

Um about 1-4 hours per day for a few months.

around 5 hours a week. Hopefully this studying will prove to me that it was not a waste of time

gah i hate this thread....

jk, good luck to all of you, i'm sure all your long hours of study will pay off....lol=)

0 . (not counting 8th grade stuff). yeah ill study more :D
