how many is too many ap classes?

ap classes are good. but if you take too many, won't colleges see that you're just doing it for the sake of taking ap classes, and not because you're actually interested in the subject?

I think then better question is: Why would you want to take AP classes in which you aren’t interested?

Take what you want. Don’t worry about what colleges will think because they will recognize your thirst for knowledge.

Ummm, no, they would see it as your being capable of doing well across the board.

I agree more with Newyorka. For example, I wasn’t all that interested in literature to be quite honest, but I took AP English Lit because I had to take an English class and the other options (regular or dual enrollment) aren’t much better. It was challenging, but rewarding. And I wouldn’t have had it any other way.

I’ll say this: don’t self-study an AP just for the sake of taking an AP. Self-study an AP because you want to. And don’t bother taking all of the AP tests either (you’ll fail miserably when it comes to mastering all of the languages.)

i dont know, personally i just think the APs are an instance of the more the better…interested or not, i’m doing as many as possible :(

yeah i don’t think taking too many APs is a problem… i and a few others from my school will have taken 20+ aps by the end of our senior year
