So I'm korean and was wondering if that is a good thing or bad....

I know that at St. Paul’s there are LOTS of kids from Korea. My son (not Asian) even joined the Korean Club. He says the food is good. :)

thanks~ I’m applying there so maybe not such a good thing but still thank you! and how much is lots?? like if there were 100 people in a grade 20 or more or less??

You might ask on the St. Paul’s School thread. Ask some of the students. I know there are students from 23 different countries, and I know several Koreans personally, but I do not know how many. One member of the Board of Trustees is from Korea (Hyun-Joon Cho, graduated from St. Paul’s in 1987 and then went to Yale).

thanks that helps a lot

how bout other schools like groton or milton??

Last week, my wife and I took our son to Hotchkiss. While there, we picked up a school face and name book. From my quick review of that book, it appears that there are about 600 kids in school this year, 30 of whom are Korean.

From the website you could probably figure out the percentage or international students, and percent of students of color. The specific for each race/country I do not know.

thanks
all the international students percentage is low but then i was wondering how much of those international students are korean, either way there’s a lot of koreans at bses so i guess being korean is negative mostly

koreans can be found everywhere at New england schools because of the parents
korean parents make their kids apply to all the toughest schools and dont caree the cost, they just want prestige and excellence
(im korean so i know, i couldnt apply to episcopal, no sir , mabye HADES will do.
by the way i got in so thats + 1 korean
GOOD LUCK

i got into a hades school i didnt think i would be able too so just believe
but boarding schools have lots of foreign students so it doesnt really matter where youre from just youre bs resume

thanks~
keegancharles: hey what did u for the vocabs?
off topic but still. people who speak english can just study them the week before and they get like a 90 something so i was wondering how did u study for the vocabs for the ssat?

Milton has a whole lot of Asians in general. Korean included :D

We have an awesome Asian club. wooot

lolz im chinese…
i guess all asians parents r sort of similar …
but hopefully its not a negative thing

Haha, Exeter is overflowing with Korean kids.
There are actually a ton of Asians, mainly Chinese or Korean, but the majority being Korean.

For applying, being Korean actually doesn’t help since it’s an overrepresented minority.
But don’t take that too seriously.
Just work hard during the application process!

(And they have a ton of Asian culture/community service related clubs at Exeter. Korean-Society, Korean Language and Culture Outreach Program, Japanese-American Society, etc.)

hmmmmmm…
thanks never knew this would get so much replies!!!

Thanks!XDDD
