How many letters of reccomendation, if required at all, can be sent?

I already have a few from my teachers. They are general letters "To the Office of....xxx student has many qualities.....recommend him". I do not exactly know if we even need to send any.

Can someone please shed some light on this issue?

thanks!

You can send as many as you want. They arn't required, but recomended. It would be better to send 2 good ones, then 10 "This is a good kid" letters. I got a recomendation letter from a pre-engineering teacher that was three pages long explaining projects I had done and excelled at and my presenation, leadership and personal qualities. When I visited Texas A&M the counselor there said they get alot of "This kid is good and he would do well at Texas A&M". He those teachers don't do much for you and told us to get good quality recomendation letters.
