How many of you are counting the hours to midnight?

Just curious to see how many of you are looking at the clock every fifteen minutes while trying to squeeze fifteen extra characters in an online application.

Just remember that there is a God for procrastinators. :)

My daughter has a friend who was running around school yesterday morning trying to find a teacher to write her a recommendation for an ED application due today. If there's truly a God of procrastinators, hopefully he'll take pity on her poor soul. :)

and to think D skipped applying ED and missed all this drama! ;)

EK, It happens again at RD time.

I gave my daughter a drop-dead date of December 1 for all of her RD apps and scholarship apps. After hearing her mention STARTING on some essays over Thanksgiving break, I think I need to tell her that she should take the words "drop-dead" literally ;)!

 and here I thought I was the queen of procrastinating.

EA deadlines also come into play today for some schools.

Scholarship consideration deadline for some schools is today.

Is there a suggested deadline that students should shoot for? all apps in by Christmas break? know it depends on the individual schools.

I'll just be drinking my tea and watching the fun on the forums tonight. Check me again NEXT year at this time -- my S is the Lord God King of procrastinators.

Our Guidance Dept wants all transcript requests and School Report forms in by end of first week in December; I guess ditto for Teacher
Recs. This is for 1/1 applications. Ideally, students should submit applications first (or Form 1 to some schools) to open files. I guess SAT scores should be sent in Dec as College Board says it takes
3-5 weeks to send them out; what do y'all think about this? I hope my child will have most apps done by Dec 1 or shortly thereafter especially cuz we'd like to enjoy our family vacation. We leave third week in Dec and I can't imagine my child doing apps while on vacation.

My, my. And here I was panicking that we didn't get the app out until yesterday AM at 10:00 AM Fed Ex. Silly me. She was a full day and half ahead of the pack!

don't forget the online PROFILE, if required by Nov 1.....CB shuts down at midnight Eastern time for those Nov 1 schools.

You guys are scaring me. :) My son is planning to get serious about his apps (due 1/1) over Thanksgiving break. I don't have a problem with this - nor do I see how he'll have much time to get started before then.
He's already sent scores - it does take a few weeks, and it's easy to do. Recs have been requested already -Some schools want Part I in advance, so he's done that, but he hasn't really written any essays that he's happy with yet. I expect he'll be finishing up over Christmas break, as well. Vacations? He'll have a great one over spring break!

ASAP, I think we've just been talking about the EA/ED apps with deadlines of November 1st. Now 24 hours past!

Spring break? Hah! That's when you really start obsessing over the RD responses that haven't come back yet.
