How many people at "Ready for Decision?"

DON’T LOSE HOPE, I was at ready for Decision until yesterday afternoon I looked on my portal and it said “provisional admit”. I got so happy since I got rejected from alot of schools. Btw major is chemical engineering

@Bustin appreciate the encouragement! I’m applying for CS (EET for my alternate but I should have opted for CIS ._) ) still super anxious though. did you get accepted as a transfer or prefosh?

I was accepted as a freshman

@Bustin congrats man! first choice or are you waiting on other schools?

I also applied for CS and still waiting… I’m in the same boat since a lotta UCs rejected me

My EI is 4507 and GPA IS 4.08, SAT: 1240 non-local for CS major; I still haven’t gotten anything. Should i be worried about getting admitted? :frowning:

@Zygole I’m most likely going to go to CPP, but if by some chance I ge off the waitlist for SLO I wouldn’t hesitate to go there. CPP was my second choice.

@xdlamb I’m still waiting as well. Got accepted to CSUF yesterday. I hope decisions come out soon, since there’s only a few weeks left until we SIR.

@selfconfidentgal where did u check to see that u were accepted?

@gteabobaa4 I got an email from CSUF Admissions and Record. Then, I checked my portal and under my application status it changed from “No admission decision has been made at this time.” to “Congratulations, you have been admitted!”

@selfconfidentgal Congratulations, that’s great!!! It sounds like CPP is your first choice. I applied to both CSUF and CPP for Business Administration (Info Sys @ CSUF and Tech & Ops Mgmt @ CPP), but am still obsessively waiting and checking my portal. Thanks for the info on how they changed your status. Hopefully, mine will be the same.

@TooOld4College If I get into CPP, I’ll be deciding between that or SJSU! But as of now, yes CPP is my first choice even though I’d really love to go to school in the Bay Area. I hope you get into CSUF! It’s a great school. I know the wait is excruciating since everybody seems to be committing to a college, but you will get your decision soon. Best of luck to both of us!

@selfconfidentgal Thanks! Ooooh, tough choice between SJSU and CPP. San Jose State is one of the higher ranked CSU’s, but CPP is a polytechnical school and may suit your academics and resume better.

@TooOld4College I definitely feel the same way! SJSU is one of the higher ranked, but I’ve seen more than a handful of people who have gotten job security right away after graduating from CPP.
Btw I like your username! Haha

@selfconfidentgal Hahaha thanks LOL when I was young at 16 first going off to college, all I dreamed about was space. Now, at 50 years old trying to get back into college, it suits me. Not sure how much I’d fit into the culture at CPP, but I’m just going to go for it. That’s also why it’s on my list. Putting Cal Poly Pomona on my resume at my age just might get me that dream position as a Director or VP of Information Systems… though I still dream of space :-B

Everyone who’s one ready for desicison like me, I called cal poly pomona today and they said admission desicison will be out by the end of April

what is the difference between local applicants and nonlocal applicants

@Yujio: For the Cal State system, each CSU has a local in-service area (local area). Local in-service area applicants are given priority for their local CSU so local applicants with possibly lower stats (eligibility index threshold) can be admitted over higher stat applicants that are non-local. With impactation and impacted majors, this no longer holds true for many campuses, since impacted majors have higher requirements.

If you are curious of the in-service areas for the CSU’s, here is the link: http://www.calstate.edu/sas/onestopkiosk/documents/csulocaladmission-serviceareas.pdf

What does “Pending student response” mean??

@xdlamb: You are waitlisted and should be receiving an email.
