^^^ Ostonzi, are there any summer programs that are inexpensive and don't require massive amounts of specialized knowledge? Because the ones that I've seen are like that..

No one.. I asked our val and she has never heard of it, so.. -shrug-. I post at school, though o:

I've heard this one junior girl talk about it, but that's all.

lol In comp sci, 3/7 (a 4th one, because of me) of my row is on the site. One got into MIT, the other deferred at Yale. And there's me. Still a year left.

Our seniors are crazy this year. Last year ivies? one.

mulberry.

you probably already know.
TASP

None.

Just like what musicallylatin said -- my school lacks overachievers.

They're smart but lazy. Most depend on their parents to do the college search and applications for them.

^^ is that this: Telluride Association: Our Programs: For High School Students: Summer Program for Juniors (TASP): General Information

if so, then no, i've never heard of it. but from reading, it's only for juniors?

I know one person, we sometimes talk to each other on here.

My school is half white, half Asian, rich and competitive. Total CC.
sounds like my school

No one. Everyone at my school is insanely mediocre, but they still insist that they're going to Harvard.

1
lol
(10char)

Halie my school is the exact opposite almost.

Half black
5 percent mexican
45 percent white

all poor

^ mine is about 90% white if not more lol

But we're all poor. I read a stat where like 30% of my school gets free lunch. Pretty underprivileged area where I'm at.

wow. my school is like a school where everyone is spoiled and thinks they're going to Ivies by taking honors classes and joining national honor society.

what a sad bunch of misinformed students.

At my school, they don't just talk about getting into the ivies, they get in.

Ditto Cal. Ditto UCLA. A few CalTechs here and there.

Is this a cause of stress for me? You bet.

Fortunetly, none that I know. I would hate for them to find out :D

I'm sure a couple lurk, but I'm rather confident that I'm the only one in my grade with an actual account.

haha same, last year one of my classmates told me that he was taking Geometry so that Stanford would accept him....lol

yeah, my school is relatively uncompetitive, last year the only decent schools we had acceptances to were Brown (1), Cornell (3), Dartmouth (1), Berkeley (19), UCLA (26), Northwestern (2), and Stanford (3) in a class of almost 400

^I would call that very competitive, at least when compared to the many mediocre schools all around the country. 3 to Stanford is very impressive, and so is 19 to Berkeley.

yea. WOW. out of 400?

thats pretty dang good.
26 UCLA? and wow 3 cornell.

One... but he doesn't come on as often as I do.
