How many people get off the waitlist?

I got in but my friend was waitlisted. Do many people get off the waitlist?

i got the letter today, they took about 180 kids off the wait list last year…the question is, how many will be on the wait list

According to some article, Penn let in a third of the waitlist, so there must’ve been about 540. Who knows how many are on this year, though.

yeah, do they release the number of wait listed applicants?

bumping this up haha

“In recent years, the Penn admission office has also waitlisted comparatively fewer students than Princeton. Last year, about 1,000 Penn applicants were waitlisted, one-quarter of the number of students accepted, according to The Daily Pennsylvanian. The Penn admission office declined to release the size of this year’s waitlist.”

[Waitlist larger than expected Class of 2013 - The Daily Princetonian](http://www.dailyprincetonian.com/2009/04/03/23262/)

wow, admissions must be pretty insecure to not release the number of waitlistees
