I'm preparing for the October ACT exam and I was thinking about doing 10 practice tests before the exam. Should I do more?

Here’s my advice. Do 1-2 sections from an official test 2-3 times a week and grade them. Go back and see what kind of mistake you made. Once a week do an entire test all the way through in simulated test conditions. That means following the testing procedure (only take a break when you will be given one) and working straight through. Grade that and see what kind of mistakes you did.

Another thing I used to do is get my time at certain points to see how I was doing with time, how much time I had left and then I would get my time after finishing my first go through to see how much time I would have left to check my answers. Then I would get my time after that (or if for some reason I ran out of time, wrote down how far I got in checking before time was called).

If you do this, you’ll go through 2-3 tests a week, meaning that in total you’ll do 8-12 tests before the official test. I’d also recommend not doing the Red Book since a lot of those tests are old and out of date (mostly for the reading, the other sections haven’t changed too much.) I’d also recommend that you do a more recent test when you do the entire test all the way through (tests from 2010-2014 are the best), and you can find these tests online.

That’s helpful. Anyone else?

@thecitystars one of the passages on the reading section, contain two passages, like the SAT. If your reading comp is good then dnt worry, otherwise be prepared
