I'm taking the ACT in June, and like the SAT, I want to know how many questions I can get wrong. I'm aiming for a similar score of the 2100 from the SAT, which is around a 31 or 32? Can someone give me a list of how many questions I can get wrong per section and still get a 32?

Hey. On practice tests, I get 31.5, round to 32.
Miss 9 math
4 English
4 Science
reading 2,3

Thanks a lot, but is -9 math really a 31 Math? Whenenver I buy the prep book, I'll take a closer look at it. Is the time pressure of the ACT more or less than the SAT? Personally I think that the SAT is very reasonable, except for reading(5 more minutes would make it very nice).

-9 math is like a 28-29 math, -2,-3 reading is a 34, -4 science is a 31-30, -4 English is 32-33

And about the time pressure, you better not get stuck a question or your done. I got stuck on three math questions and I didn't skip them, and I nearly ran out of time. This is also very important for reading and science, not so much english.

In all honesty, if there's a math question that you look at and don't understand how to do at first, then just skip it (fill it in of course, but don't waste time trying to solve it until you finish the rest). You can come back later, and it's not worth your time to sit there dorking around. I made the mistake my first time.

^I totally agree...

Honestly, I'd say it depends on your strengths with each section. If you have strong English and Reading and poor Science and Math, the other two can pull your Science and Math up quite a bit. Remember the ACT people average your four grades together and ROUND it up if it's .5+... So just play around with the scores a bit and take into account your strengths. Then look at a practice book because they also have -rough- scoring charts to grade the practice tests. That should give you an idea. But then there is always the funky bell curve that messes everything up. :) Makes my head spin.

what is about -9 on the reading section??
