How many students are there in pre-med at Yale? Like number wise?

Go to their page - look at the major sheet for the app.

Notice something?

If you want to go into medicine, go with math/hard sciences/Anything that takes a lot of work

And do awesomely well in it.

Who knows how many Yalies are doing well in their major?

Unless Yale actually posts statistics of how many students apply to medical school each year, I don't know how you'd figure out the numbers. You can major in any subject and be pre-med.

Perhaps the more important statistic is that Yale sends around 96% of its pre-meds to medical school

^Is that 96% of people getting into their top 3 med schools, or just any med school in general?

It's just any medical school. Those are VERY good numbers despite that. Considering that schools like UC Berkeley send only 60% or so of their pre-meds to medical school.

I'm pre-med at Yale... I can't say for sure what the numbers are, but I'd imagine there are around 70-100 people applying each year.

Zero.........

there is no Pre-med at Yale. Nor there is Pre-law, Pre-etc...

It's just courses, and supplementing them with additional courses to qualify for graduate, professional school admissions.

^^^at best a very slight difference in semantics. No one said "premed" major, they were correctly discussing students pursuing a premed curriculum along with their other studies. Y recognizes students that are planning to apply to med school as premed, for instance:

It's more than just coursework, for instance:

"REGISTERING WITH THE HEALTH PROFESSIONS ADVISORY PROGRAM (HPAP)
Students currently enrolled in Yale College and eligible alumni (see below for more information) who plan to apply for admission to medical school begin the process by registering with the Health Professions Advisory Program (HPAP) during the month of November preceding the year in which you plan to apply."

and

"Applicants currently enrolled in Yale College are required to have a personal interview with a Health Professions Interviewer between mid-February and early May of the year in which you begin the process of applying for admission to medical school"

^ That more than just coursework bit is pretty standard for people applying to med schools, nowadays.
