I’m currently a rising junior and am making a list of all the summer programs that I’d be applying to. Just out of curiosity, on average how many camps do you guys apply to? The ones that I’m applying to are all fairly competitive and idk if I should add some backup ones in case? (im mainly interested in science/business)

All you really need is one plan (a dual enrollment class, work, internship, less competitive camp, travel, etc.) in the event you don’t get into one of the competitive programs.

A backup is a good idea. One complexity with summer programs is that they vary on acceptance dates and when you have to commit. Picking a backup with a later application and response date is a good idea.
